Transportation For America's Release of the Innovative MPO
MZ Strategies, LLC is excited to spread word about the upcoming webinar by Transportation for America (T4America) to celebrate the December 10th launch of their new report, "The Innovative MPO". T4America contracted with MZ Strategies to research and write the publication which features best practices and cutting edge planning by regions across the country.
Regardless of metropolitan size, innovation is happening when Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) partner with local communities, state Departments of Transportation, regional employers, community advocates and other regional partners. MPOs are exploring new ways to use data, engage communities, integrate transportation with housing, land use and environmental systems. And, through partnership and an emphasis on performance outcomes MPOs are stretching transportation dollars to improve mobility, accessibility and the quality of life and economic competitiveness of their regions.
To learn more, we hope you can join us on December 10th (1:00 - 2:00 pm EST) for the T4America webinar and to download the free publication.
From The Transportation for America Innovative MPO Webinar Notice:
Chances are, your commute this morning was shaped by the work of a metropolitan planning organization – and not only your commute, but also your entire metro region, at least to some degree.
Metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs) connect a region’s roads, bridges, transit systems, bike lanes, and sidewalks to economic, educational, and social opportunities. Their decisions can impact traffic congestion, development patterns, workforce development, public health, and how a region connects to larger national and global markets.
Join us for the launch of The Innovative MPO. The last several years have seen a surge in innovative thinking and practice among MPOs nationwide, and their work has inspired a new guidebook to help MPO staff, board members, and civic leaders find innovative ways to make communities prosper.
Transportation for America will hold an online discussion about the new resource on Wednesday, December 10 at 1 PM EST.
